Notes – Airtime Merchant & Dealer Platform
1. Dealer Setup & Visibility
Add a dealer table visible to merchants after registration.
Merchants should be able to view and contact multiple dealers.
Merchants are not restricted to one dealer.
Dealers should be able to self-register on the platform.
Dealers can onboard/register merchants on their behalf if needed.
2. Merchant Registration Flow
Enable self-registration for both merchants and dealers.
Registration should be simple to encourage sign-ups.
3. API Access
Dealers to be provided with API access to support higher volumes and automation.
API availability is a strong incentive for dealers.
4. Account Activation & Payments
Consider integrating mobile money and/or bank payments.
Merchants may activate accounts instantly by purchasing airtime, which becomes their account balance.
This is not an activation fee; it helps validate genuine users and reduce dummy accounts.
5. Activation Policy
Activation should not be mandatory at registration.
Merchants can register first and activate later.
Send periodic reminders to unactivated accounts.
Accounts with no activity after 1–2 weeks may be removed after sufficient notifications.
6. Growth Strategy
Priority is to maximize merchant onboarding while maintaining platform quality.
Use soft enforcement (reminders) rather than hard restrictions. |
